SA announces 3G Evolution Lab - LTE Library for Synopsys System Studio

09 June 2009

Glasgow, Scotland, UK, June 2009. Steepest Ascent Ltd. announces its LTE Library for Synopsys System Studio, part of Steepest Ascent's 3G Evolution Lab family of PHY simulation products.

3G Evolution Lab - LTE Library for Synopsys System Studio is a comprehensive physical layer simulation library for Release 8 of the 3GPP Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) standard. The library will accelerate your algorithm and PHY development, support golden reference verification and enable custom test & measurement waveform generation.

The product features models to perform channel coding/decoding and modulation/demodulation operations implementing the full physical layer transmit/receive processing chain, from transport channels and control information to OFDM and SC-FDMA modulated waveforms. Receive models are available to recover the transmitted signals. Full 2 and 4 antenna MIMO layering and precoding are supported. More information about the library can be found here.

An advantage over other tools is the high simulation speeds achieved with Steepest Ascent's 3G Evolution Lab in combination with System Studio, accelerating the development phase and reducing time to market. This library will be available end of Q3 2009, with evaluation versions available immediately. The development roadmap includes tracking compliance with Release 8 into Release 9. Further information on System Studio can be found in the datasheet.

The next public LTE Physical Layer Training Course from Steepest Ascent is scheduled for Sept 28-30 2009 in Glasgow. This course provides attendees with an in depth understanding of the techniques and processing involved in the LTE physical layer and includes presentations and tutorials on the core physical layer technologies and their application within LTE. Practical demonstrations featuring Steepest Ascent's LTE library for System Studio will illustrate the key technologies. This course is also available for onsite delivery at customer sites and more information on its contents can be found in the syllabus.
